The Pigeon And The Ant Story For Children

Once upon a time, on a bank of a river, there was a tree. A pigeon used to live on that tree. At the bottom of the same tree, an ant used to live in a burrow. The pigeon and the ant were good friends. One day it rained very heavily, and river water flooded the area around the tree where that ant and pigeon lived. The ant started flowing away with the water. The pigeon saw this and thought,

“My dear friend ant is in trouble. I should help him.”

He then threw a leaf into the water and asked the ant to climb onto it. The ant first struggled to climb up the leaf, but soon it managed to climb up that leaf safely. The pigeon then flew down and picked up that leaf with the ant and brought his friend safely onto the land. The ant thanked his friend, the pigeon, and slowly time passed.

One day a hunter came near the tree where the ant and the pigeon used to live. The hunter saw the pigeon’s nest and scattered some grains and a net under the tree. Luckily, the ant was observing everything from his burrow and sensed the danger. Soon the pigeon came down from the tree to eat scattered seeds and grains. The ant thought,

“I should act fast. My friend, the pigeon, will be trapped if he goes near the grains. I must do something and make him fly away immediately.”

The ant came out of its burrow, and as the pigeon was about to land on the ground, the ant pricked the pigeon above his claw. The pigeon got scared and flew away. This way, the ant saved the life of his friend. Later that day, the pigeon thanked the ant for saving his life by alerting him to the danger.
